National Airlines 1973 Annual Report

National was using the "Fly Me" campaign at this time. The graphic of their fleet is excellent.

National Airlines - March, 1979

How does an airline publish a timetable without a route map? Well, National Airlines did in 1979. Even without the route map, this timetable is a good example of how to use a timetable to advertise. I didn't know that Houston was a focus city for National, so I included the schedules for that city. I searched the internet for a National route map to no avail. I'll keep looking.

Update: Here's a site that features some advertising from National and their final route map before they were acquired by PanAm.

This is as close to a route map as you'll get in this timetable:

Here are some other great advertisements:

This is a good commercial featuring National's expansion to Europe:

Pan American World Airways - February, 1980

This one is probably a collectors item for airline enthusiasts. It features both Pan Am and National Airlines schedules. National was taken over by Pan Am in 1980. I flew National once or twice on the JFK-MIA run and flew many times on Pan Am when I lived in Miami. I was lucky with Pan Am's Worldpass miles when they were coordinating with American at one point. I transferred all my mile to American, and so I kept them after Pan Am went bankrupt in 1991, the same year Eastern went under.

At this point, PanAm was still operating a hub in Frankfurt, Germany.
