Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) - October, 1990

Pan Am was heading towards the end. It declared bankruptcy the following January, sold off the European routed and Pan Am Shuttle to Delta and remained as a Miami-based operation. Pan Am would cease to exist by the end of 1991 after Delta decided not continue to provide financing.

Pan Am and American linked their frequent flyer programs for awhile, and I moved all of my Pan Am WorldPass miles to American's AAdvantage program. It proved to be a good move.
